Bio
I was a late starter in spite of being born into a very musical family with both parents talented musicians and singers. A busy career in the corporate world meant music was relegated for many years to friend’s parties and the very occasional foray into stage performances. However in 1999 I attended a Music Camp – Summersong. A transformation took place and I discovered that my talent for writing could be turned into songs. So began my musical journey and a great love of song writing and performing.
From this I have become unstoppable and a change in career gave me more time to devote to music. Over the last fourteen years I have performed at hundreds of different venues and many festivals. I love it.
Many people have given me encouragement along the way and some of these include Andrew Pattison of Troubadour fame who invited me to do gigs on numerous occasions on his stage at Woodford Folk Festival and The National in Canberra. Knowing that Andrew only invited artists he felt were really professional and entertaining, was a boost to my confidence. Other encouraging mentors along the way have included Kristina Olsen, Lil Fi, Enda Kenny, Pete Moreton, Bruce Watson, Martin Pearson and Debra Byrne – all of whom have invited me on stage with them to perform. I thank them for helping me to believe in myself.
Guitarist
I have performed with a number of different guitarists over the years but for the past eight years the wonderful and talented Chris Jack has been my duo partner. Chris has a relaxed stage style and a wonderful sense of humour. Sometimes the spontaneous banter between Chris and myself has audiences in stitches. Chris is an accomplished musician and has had a long career in a number of line ups. He is currently part of Murphys Pigs a wonderful irish band.

Her entertaining anecdotes add to her performance and with her warmth and relaxed style on stage, she connects so easily with her audience. She has a presence. Audiences love her. Other Aspects of Glenys
In addition to my musical career I have been an environmental supporter for many years having instigated the concept of Tidy Towns in Queensland and encouraged many communities to work together with Local Councils to plant trees, beautify their towns and to clean up litter and eyesores etc. I was honoured to receive the Order of Australia Medal in 1983 for these efforts. In addition I was the Telstra Executive of the Year in 1993 and was one of 20 women in Australia selected to receive the Woman 88 Award given for leadership and innovation. I also ran with the Olympic Torch in 2000 – it was a great feeling to do this.
While I am still active in environmental endeavours, these days my career other than music performance is counselling. As a qualified Gestalt Therapist and Imago Relationship Therapist, I help many people get their lives back on track.
